The International Corporate & Commercial Law LLM is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in corporate or commercial law. It would be useful to students who aspire to work in the corporate and commercial sectors, but not necessarily within a legal career. The programme would be an excellent foundation for students who are considering pursuing legal research.
Course detail
The online International Corporate & Commercial Law master’s in law is thematically structured around the life cycle of a corporate body, providing you with an in-depth understanding of today’s highly complex and dynamic global corporate and its commercial worlds. The programme will have great practical relevance; it will equip students with problem-solving skills, an ability to deal with legal problems and questions against the backdrop of economic realities and a good business sense. The programme will:
- Examine the issues of international corporate law, including regulation of mergers and acquisitions, corporate form and its issues, corporate actors and international corporate finance.
- Focus on key transactions and legal arrangements entered into by a corporate body, including trade, shipping, finance, energy, and investment-related transactions.
- Include a stage when ‘things go wrong’, with the focus being on dispute resolution and on corporate insolvency. Includes courses on international commercial arbitration and international corporate insolvency.
- Provide overarching legal foundation and themes to corporate and commercial areas of the law as well as reinforce a global and transnational vision underpinning the programme.

Entry Requirements
Standard requirements
Candidates should meet one of the following criteria:
- A 2:1 honours degree (or above) in a single or joint degree in Law or international equivalent
- A 60% (or above) in an LLM or GDL degree or international equivalent
Degree certificates or transcripts will be required when submitting the application.
Non-standard requirements
Applications for candidates who fall outside of the standard entry requirements but meet one of the following criteria are still considered and are assessed on a case-by-case basis:
- A high 2:2 (57%) in a single or joint degree in Law or international equivalent and at least 3 years of professional legal experience.
- A 2:1 in a non-Law honours degree or international equivalent and at least 3 years of professional legal experience.
- A previous master’s degree (or above) in a non-Law subject area or equivalent and at least 3 years of professional legal experience.
Candidates who fail to meet the criteria above are unlikely to be successful.
Non-standard applications will need to be supported by degree certificates or transcripts, a CV, an employer reference letter and a personal statement.
Tuition
Fees will be charged per module as you progress through the course*.
LLM: 12 modules. PG Dip: 8 Modules. PG Cert: 4 modules.
The fee per module for the 2022/23 Academic Year is £1,710 and for the 2023/24 Academic Year is £1,796.
*Tuition fees may be subject to an annual increase (capped at 5%) each academic year in line with King's College London's terms and conditions. Each increase comes into effect for the September teaching period each year. From September 2023 the module fee will be £1,796.
