Summary
For ambitious graduates, this accelerated LLB provides an intensive, academically rigorous and fulfilling way to start your legal career. It has been designed with the needs of those seeking international qualifications and practice in mind.
Students on the Senior Status LLB will attend a two-week International Legal Studies immersion programme in downtown Toronto, Ontario, the content of which has been informed by the involvement of Magic Circle and Am Law 100 firms. As well as broadening your understanding of the complexities of international legal practice from the setting of a dynamic, international business hub, this immersive learning experience will explore legal career pathways in Canada as a UK-qualified lawyer.
In addition to the courses required for a Qualifying Law Degree, Senior Status students can take a range of optional courses including Company Law, Competition Law, and Legal Research and Advocacy, a course designed to enhance your preparation and presentation of written and oral legal arguments and to develop your understanding and practice of litigation.
The programme offers a breadth of educational opportunity to its students alongside academic depth. Senior Status LLB students are able to maintain their undergraduate academic interests or explore entirely new disciplines, by taking elective subjects from many of the College’s faculties. An interdisciplinary element to your Law degree improves your capacity to appreciate alternative and innovative perspectives and can demonstrate a multi-faceted skill set to future employers.
The College is part of Northeastern University’s global network, which includes a number of campus locations in the US and Canada. Northeastern’s American Bar Association-accredited Law School has been instrumental in developing this programme alongside NCH Law Faculty members with significant professional experience practising in multiple jurisdictions. This Senior Status LLB provides graduates with a legal qualification that has a truly global focus.
